2021 - A new Chapter for the 911 TE

Here are some pictures from my 1971 911T.

I got the car in 2003, and the rear suspension was collapsed. The reason was the torsion bar tube, which was rusted. I found a good piece and replaced it. That was the first work I did, so I could roll the car around.
I decided to build it for autocross to run in the Prepared class. So this was not a retoration, it was build to be a race car. Below are a few picture during the torsion bar tube replacement

Here is a picture when I just got it.

Lots of rusted sheet metal.

Here I have cut out the rusted pieces. It was also to get access to replace the torsion bar tube.

This is how it looked like after replacing the tortion bar tube and welding in new sheet metal.

Above the replacement torsion bar tube and below it is the old part

This is how it looks now from the bottom site after all is welded back it.

The engine ready to go back in.

Here some hole to fix. This was rusted because the drain hole from the sunroof was plugged.
