2021 - A new Chapter for the 911 TE

I got a 4 post lift in my garage and that makes the restoration process much easier.

1st step is done the 911 is on the lift. The nice thing about it, when I'm not working on the 911, I can still part 2 additional cars in the garage.

Deconstruction ! Next step determine all the rusted pieces which need to be replaced. Rocker panels, Front suspension pan and tank support, bottom section of left and right section, complete floor pan, front window frame partial, some other small sections around the floor pan and rocker panel.

Rocker panel left, Done !

Rocker panel right in the works.

Here a few more details of the right side rocker panel replacement.

Rocker panel replaced, side panel welded back on, and the door lock section repaired !

This shows the front suspension pan removed and ready to receive the new part.

Fitting in the new piece with the suspension bolted and measured.

Welding in the new piece.

Adding the tank support.

Adding some custom made sheet metal pieces, for the left and right side.

After all was cleaned a good coat of primer was applied.

The custom made pieces for the right side.

The right side again with the repaired battery box.

After I removed the trunk seals, I found more rust.

All the replacement pieces are custom made.

The botom section of the windshield frame had to be cut out and a new piece welded in.

Here is the hole where the rear section of the floor pan was located

The rear section of the floor pan is welded in the front parts cut out.

Finally ! The floor pan is completed.

Here are some of the old parts which were removed.
