Restoration of components

Here is how I restored suspension parts and pieces. Cleaning, blasting and powder coating, or zinc plating.

New Turbo tie rods for the steering rack.

Next, I started with the Brake calipers. Cleaned, Blasted. Here the rear before and after cleaning and blasting.

Here they are ready for coating.

Here all Coated, and ready for assembly.

The Targa top on the Carrera is normally painted black.

Most of the black paint was already faded away from sitting in the elements all the years.

I decided that I just get the rest of the paint off and give it a brushed look.

I made a set of brake lines.

After I was done, I looked at the old lines, and the fittings which were not damaged I took off and re-plated them, so I have some spares.

Heater flaps need to be restored. Here is how they looked before.

Here are the pieces powder coated, and ready for assembly.

Cleaned up the oil tank.

I checked the lever sender, re-installed with new gasket.

A new coat of black satin paint.

The oil tank is ready to be installed.

The pedal system was complete destroyed.

I found usable a replacement.

I disassembled the replacement for restoration.

Got it all blasted.

And assembled it with new brass bushings.

I checked out the windshield wiper system.

Disassembled it and cleaned it up a bit.

Powder coated the frame and it's assembled, tested and ready to be installed.

The parking brake lever needed also some attention.

I disassembled it, powder coated the parts, assembled and ready for installation. Made a new release button from Aluminum.

Overhaulin' the fresh air system.

I disassembled it and cleaned it. I powder coated the hardware.

Testing the blower. Think about it would do this all the time when driving the car So I got a new one.

Ready for installation.

Next, I took the electrical panel from the engine compartment.

Disassembled, cleaned, blasted and powder coated.

When I got the car there were all pieces under the left fender missing. No gas vapor tank, no windshield washer tank and no support, etc. I found a good Windshield washer tank, but without cover and center piece for the tubing for nozzles and pump. I made the cover and center piece for the washer tank with the 3D printer.

The support I found needed some work. I blasted and Powder coated. The small items zinc plated.
